چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is widely linked to chronic inflammation, with a higher incidence in the advanced stages of disease. Recognition systemic inflammation may be useful for prompt diagnosis management various CKD related disorders open door towards development application anti-inflammatory strategy treatments. This case-control cross-sectional study investigates association neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR), total iron binding capacity (TIBC) serum albumin high interleukin-6 (IL-6) children (CKD). Method NLR PLR were measured 53 patients (median age: 12.9 years) 25 healthy controls, stratified by age sex. Lipid profile, glucose tolerance parameters, albumin, uric acid IL-6 patient group. Results Compared (p = 0.004 p 0.032 respectively), particularly those on dialysis (CKD 5D) (17 patients) (p<0.001 0.001). LnIL-6 was correlated (rs 0.344, 0.014), -0.350, 0.011) TIBC -0.345, 0.012) after adjustment stage, while correlation between lnIL-6 not significant 0.206, 0.151). Patients ≥1.7, ≤300 μg/dl ≤3.8 g/dl presented risk increased (15 regardless stage (OR 5.499, 95% CI 1.272-22.017, 0.016, OR 9.818, 2.311-41.706, 0.002 7.543, 1.891-30.083, 0.004). ≥1.7 TIBC≤ 300 predicted highest sensitivity (73.3%), ≤ 3.8 specificity (97.4%). Conclusion Both increase pediatric CKD, especially 5D. rather than serve as diagnostic marker along albumin.

Background: The present study aimed to compare the complete blood count (CBC) indices between COVID-19 patients and the control group, and assess the relationship of these indices with COVID-19 prognosis given the role of complete blood counts in the COVID-19 prognosis. Methods: COVID-19 patients (confirmed by PCR or CT-Scan) who visited Imam Hospital in Sari were selected in this case-control...
متن کاملVitamin D and inflammation: evaluation with neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio
INTRODUCTION Association of vitamin D, inflammation and endothelial dysfunction, beside the classic bone metabolism disorders, may explain the pathogenesis of numerous diseases associated with vitamin D deficiency. While large numbers of reports support the relationship of vitamin D with inflammation, several reports fail to confirm this relationship. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and pl...

Background: Rheumatoid Arthritis patients are evaluated during treatment for various inflammatory factors such as C-reactive protein, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate, and Disease Activity Score, and other immune system-related factors. In the follow-up of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, hematologic factors associated with the immune system especially Platelet to Lymphocyte Ratio and Neutroph...
متن کاملNeutrophil lymphocyte ratio as a measure of systemic inflammation in prevalent chronic diseases in Asian population
BACKGROUND Preliminary evidence has suggested the role of inflammation in development and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases and cancers. Most of the prognostic studies failed to account for the effects of co-morbid conditions as these might have raised the systemic inflammation. We used neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as a measure of systemic inflammation and investigated its association w...
متن کاملSerum iron and total iron-binding capacity compared with serum ferritin in assessment of iron deficiency.
Ferritin values for 250 selected sera were compared with values for iron, total iron-binding capacity (TIBC), and transferrin saturation, to assess the potential of the ferritin assay for the detection of latent iron deficiency. The specimens were grouped (50 in each group) according to their values for iron and TIBC. In Group 1 (low iron, high TIBC) the saturation and ferritin values both indi...
